Making Friends With Girls

It's always nice to meet people and make friends.
I hung out with todd (the-loupe guy) and his lovely girlfriend, dr. lara. I met them at typhoon (ritzel’s recommendation!) at the santa monica airport. I would say it was the perfect spot to meet for drinks. we didn’t sample any of the crickets or the scorpion seahorse juice (next time!), but i got a healthy dose of nice, fun, good conversation. they made me laugh a lot. one thing for sure is that that kind of social interaction is making me a happier person.

Online Dating Faux Pas

Is there a book of etiquette for online dating?

I think I’ve committed a grave online dating faux pas.

Real Love

I really like this post on seeing your partner for who they are.
The wonderful part about this blog…and my lack of advertising…is that I can keep it REAL! I’m not ALWAYS strong…I’m not ALWAYS right…I’m not ALWAYS sweet…or funny…but I’m ALWAYS REAL! So in my state of REALNESS, I can admit that I cried, I whined, I laughed, I cursed, AND I refuted his nonsense in our 45 minute conversation. I hung up the phone, put my head down and started asking myself, “What did I do wrong?” Feeling the tears streaming, I actually ALMOST popped the cork to a pity party. BUT THEN, I woke up. In 2 seconds, my logic FINALLY overcame my emotion. I gained the clarity that HE claimed would take me years to achieve. And you want to know a secret…it’s clear to me that HE.IS.NOT.A.PRIZE. 10 bucks says that is NOT what he thought that I would conclude.

Meeting Online

love poems meeting online Here's a blog in which people tell stories of meeting someone special in a distant land ... the Internet.
How are romances that begin online similar to and different from romances that begin in real-life? Narratives from players who began a romantic relationship online talk about their experiences. Below, several players offer their stories of how they met their real life romantic partners online and how the relationship progressed.

Meeting People

This may seem a bit off the beaten path, but if you want to meet new people, consider going to a trade show or convention where you can meet people who share the same interests. Even if they're totally geeky.
Here are some pointers to the newbie Lotusphere attendees. I am not going to try replicate Turtle's excellent tips at the Gonzo Lotusphere site (especially the classic "The Unofficial Gonzo Guide to Meeting People at Lotusphere" post - highly recommended).

Meeting

Meeting

Dogs take new friends abruptly and by smell,
Cats' meetings are neat, tactual, caressive.
Monkeys exchange their fleas before they speak.
Snakes, no doubt, coil by coil reach mutual knowledge.

We then, at first encounter, should be silent;
Not court the cortex but the epidermis;
Not work from inside out but outside in;
Discover each other's flesh, its scent and texture;
Familiarize the sinews and the nerve-ends,
The hands, the hair - before the inept lips open.

Instead of which we are resonant, explicit.
Our words like windows intercept our meaning.
Our four eyes fence and flinch and awkwardly
Wince into shadow, slide oblique to ambush.
Hands stir, retract. The pulse is insulated.
Blood is turned inwards, lonely; skin unhappy ...
While always under all, but interrupted,
Antennae stretch ... waver ... and almost ... touch.
